My Kelvinator refrig. quit working?

Our family’s 8-year old Kelvinator 18 cu. ft. “top-fridge” refrigerator has slowly stopped cooking over the last 2 weeks.

I first noticed it when meat, that was frozen in the freezer, began to thaw and bleed. At first, I just thought my mother was too tired to notice that she had put meat that had been unfrozen, back into the freezer. But then, other portions of meat were bleeding, and our ice cube trays were now turning back into water.

Now, it hasn’t completely stopped working, but I can only imagine it’s not far from it. I think the freon is slowly going out, because the freezer is now cold enough only to cool as the refrigerator used to (our milk, butter, etc. has been moved up into there).

Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? I don’t want to hire a repair man, because I can get a similar NEW fridge for $400, and the repair man is probably gonna want close to 25% of that amount, not including parts (and that doesn’t gurantee he can fix it). Thanks for ANY help =)
That is, it has stopped “COOLING” not cooking, as I incorrectly noted in the first paragraph, above.

Thanks again.

My fridge stopped cooling a couple of days ago but the freezer is perfectly fine?

My fridge stopped cooling a couple of days ago but the freezer is perfectly fine (actually the freezer seems a little cooler than usual). How can I fix this without having to pay someone to do it and spending money on repairing it? Because we don’t have enough money right now. How can I fix the fridge?

Thank you! :-)

Under-Drawer Fridge Freezer

 Under-Drawer Fridge/Freezer designed

Unless you have a large household, or do a lot of home canning or whatever, a full size refrige is likely not to be really practical in both the volume of physical space it takes up, and the amount of electrical energy it uses. In fact, most fridges end up by being far too large and far too expensive to run for the majority of households who own them

At last, a company has finally realised this and come up with a solution. Izona has developed their “CoolDrawer”. It is a discerning and elegant under counter refrigerator-freezer unit that pulls out like a normal drawer. Single segments can be adjusted to operate at different temperature settings, and you are even able to fit larger items like wine bottles without a problem.

Help! No ice in ice-maker?

I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. The ice-maker was making ice just fine for a year. Now it makes about 10 cubes / day. Also, I do hear the water going through the tube maybe once or twice a day.

The arm is down, so that’s not the problem. The ice bucket is also all the way in.

Someone suggested I clean it with vinegar, but, embarassingly, I don’t know what they want me to clean with vinegar.

Also, could I alter the temperature so it possibly “fixes itself?” If so, should I make it cooler or hotter? And should I direct more or less cold air to the freezer side?

I am obviously not that handy and my husband isn’t taking care of this, so any simple instructions (besides calling a repair man) are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
